Pure spanish honey, straight from the beekeeper

A house made of honey

Ystán Miel was founded in 1984 out of founder Fernando’s love for bees and their environment. Since then, our family has been producing natural, artisanal honey in Istán, Málaga, carefully tending to each harvest from flowering to bottling.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean that our honey is raw?

Our honey is produced without pasteurisation, preserving the texture, aroma and natural characteristics of each flowering season.

Where does Ystán Miel honey come from?

Our honey is produced in our own apiaries in the Sierra de las Nieves, Serranía de Ronda, Axarquía region of Málaga, Genal Valley and Guadalhorce Valley.

What is the difference between orange blossom, chestnut, wildflower and avocado honey?

Each variety comes from a different floral source and has its own colour, aroma and intensity. Orange blossom honey is milder and more floral; chestnut honey is more intense and lingering; wildflower honey varies with the season; and avocado honey has a deeper, more complex profile.

Is Ystán Miel honey pure?

Yes. We produce pure Spanish honey from our own hives, without blending honeys from different origins.

Why Does Honey Crystallise?

Crystallisation is a natural process that may occur over time, especially in certain varieties. It does not mean that the honey has gone bad or lost its quality.

How Should Natural Honey Be Stored?

Keep it tightly sealed in a dry place, away from direct sources of heat. It does not need to be refrigerated.
